Steel frame quote: what drives the price

The price of a steel frame is not a flat fee: it comes from a calculation. Here is what a quote contains and what makes it vary.

By Pilot Constract, Sfax

Steel weight, the first basis

The price first rests on the weight of steel in the structure, multiplied by a price per kilogram. That weight is the sum of the columns, rafters, purlins, bracing, struts, base plates, anchor rods, cleats and gussets.

The dimensions of the building

Length, width (span), eaves height and the distance between frames set the number of elements and their size: the larger the building, or the wider the frame spacing, the heavier the sections.

The sections chosen

Each position in the structure (columns, rafters, purlins...) receives a section suited to the loads: this is the engineering office's work. A heavier section weighs more and costs more.

Roofing, cladding, insulation

Sheet roofing and cladding, with or without insulation, are added to the structure according to your project.

Excluding tax, then taxes

Prices are shown excluding tax. VAT (19 %) and, depending on the case, FODEC (1 %) are then added.

Estimate online, confirm after the study

Pilot Constract's quote calculator gives an industrial steel framing estimate from your dimensions and your sections. The final price is confirmed after the study.
